FINAL FAREWELLS
 I woke up in the middle of the night and felt as if someone was hugging me in their arms. There was a feeling of such love and warmth. I got out of bed and walked around for a while puzzling why I should suddenly have such an overwhelming feeling. The next day it all made sense when I was told that my son, who lived in Canada, had died at that exact moment.

It was your son’s final farewell. Three weeks ago, at exactly 2.00pm, I was writing this column when my computer crashed. Ten minutes later my sister called “Dad died at two can you come over?” As I rushed around the house looking for my car keys the whole house filled with a thick scent of jasmine. At two my brother’s car broke down and my niece’s mobile phone lost the memory of all its stored numbers except the one for my father. Isn’t it uplifting to know that the spirit can tell us that life goes on?
